When you’re lucky enough to have your own paddocks at home, planning a festival wedding in your garden seemed like the perfect option for Chris and Sam.

After postponing the big day due to covid the couple had waited an extra year for the wedding to take place but, having quickly realised how laid back they were about everything, I think they were happy to have the extra time to bring everything together.

The ceremony took place at the St Mary’s church in Wapload Lincolnshire, an old church with amazing architecture and beautifully manicured grounds. The couples guests filled the the huge building creating an excited atmosphere as the bride walked down the aisle.

This church ceremony was definitely one I will remember, Sam warned me that when she got nervous she giggled ……..A LOT! and she didn’t let me down, the giggles came just as she started to exchange vows making the whole wedding party laugh! She did manage to regain composure, completed her vows and exchange rings. This really was a wedding photographers dream ceremony with so much genuine emotion and joy to capture.

We took some time outside the church to take some family group photographs and an epic confetti throw before heading back to the house for the reception.

Arriving at the house we were greeted by the aroma of the Hog roast cooking, the Lazy Mare Bar was set up serving drinks to the already relaxing guests and the band completing their sound check as the horses happily grazed in the background.

The couple enjoyed a very relaxed afternoon having time to chat to friends while the kids were let loose playing football and the big kids tried their hand at some garden games.

Sam & Chris wanted to include their horses in some photographs so we took a walk across the paddocks. We weren’t sure how they would behave but they were great, especially Dave the pony who was very interested in the brides bouquet and tried to eat it!

As the evening drew in everyone gathered around for the speeches which had the whole wedding party belly laughing and the groom cringing just a little as his best man told some interesting stories.

The sun setting behind us created the backdrop for the couples first dance, we were treated to the incredible vocals of Kerina Loy who blew everyone away.

The band Funk Odyssey took over and got everyone up dancing, delighting the party with an amazing evening of live music.
