From the moment I got a message from Jo to ask if I was available to photograph her and Ian’s wedding I knew it would be an amazing wedding day! I had previously photographed the couple for their family shoots and new how much fun they would be bringing to the day.

Arranged quickly and with restrictions in place it was touch and go on whether their wedding would be allowed, but despite everything Jo and Ian’s wedding went ahead and it really was a beautiful family event, relaxed and full of laughter.

The Wedding was held at the unique Rayleigh Windmill in Essex a stunning historical venue with an unusual round ceremony room that has a lovely modern, light feel whilst still keeping the original features, perfect for this intimate family wedding.

The Windmill was beautifully dressed with flowers by Life-like weddings. Jo looked absolutely stunning in her dress from wed2be.

After some group photographs in the private gardens next to the windmill, Ian drove his new wife to Pontlands Park Hotel in Chelmsford for the reception.

It was the first wedding I had photographed at this elegant, victorian Hotel and I was blown away with the beautiful building and landscaped gardens, the lake with wooden bridge going over was the perfect staging for the larger group photographs.

The weather stayed dry for the couple and they were able to have drinks and photographs in the grounds before moving into the house for the wedding breakfast.

It was an absolute pleasure to share and photograph Ian & Jo’s day, below are some images from the day.
